A recent survey of MIGA clients asked doctors working in the public hospital system questions about their medical indemnity insurance arrangements. The results highlighted that only 41% of hospital doctors know what they are covered for in the indemnity provided by their hospital and only 50% understand why they should have their own insurance as a ‘back up’ to the cover provided by their hospital.
